What moves the number
Why two quotes for the same building disagree.
Hardware grade is the biggest swing. An enterprise platform like Genetec Omnicast costs more up front and in licensing — but carries redundancy, integrations, and a decade-plus lifecycle that the cheapest cloud platforms don't.
Installation depends on pathway: open ceilings are fast, conditioned office space with drywall and union trades is not. Rush timelines add overtime and expedited shipping premiums that show up on no one's line-item.
Services are the line most legacy quotes leave out. Firmware governance, warranty RMAs, and an actual SLA cost money. If you don't see them quoted, you're paying for them later.
